On September the 23d on the basis of Mykolayiv National Agrarian University the second plenary session of the III International scientific and practical conference "The growth and competitiveness of the agricultural sector in Poland and Ukraine on the background of global trends" was held. The conference languages were English, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. The event was organized by the National University of Food Technologies, Kiev, the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Warsaw, Mykolayiv National Agrarian University and the Center of the Sociological Research.
The conference was headed by Dr. Andrzej Kowalsky, the Director of the Polish Institute, and Dr.Alexandr Novikov., the vice-president of the scientific work of MNAU.
The Conference was also facilitated by Dr. Joseph Zegar, the Head of the General Economy Department of the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Warsaw; Dr. Cherven, the Head of the Department of the production management and innovation activities of enterprises, MNAU; Dr. Vishnevskaya, the Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance, MNAU; and Dr. Potrivaeva, the Head of the Research Department, MNAU.
The eleven reports were presented during the Conference.The presentations were very informative and interesting with statistical data and analytical materials. Dr. Bozena Nosetska gave a comprehensive description of the current state of fruit and vegetable production in Poland in comparison with previous years, before and after joining the European Union. The problems which Poland had faced with in the period of market economy, and different solutions were also described.
Dr. Schepanyak (Evaluation of Poland's competitivenesson on the EU market), Dr. Shebanina and the post - graduate student of MNAU – Egorova, M. (the Perspectives of investing in clean production as a factor of the agricultural competitiveness), Eve Rosiak, Robert Mroczek, Olga Vishnevskaya, Elena Kotikova and Elena Kalyuzhnaya had also presented their reports.
One of the results of the Conference was the signing of the Cooperation Memorandum with the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness and reaching of a preliminary agreement for future signing of the same Memorandum with the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
