On May the 12th in Mykolayiv National Agrarian University University the meeting of the pedagogical staff with Peter Poroshenko, the deputy of Ukraine, was held.
He was introduced by the President of Mykolayiv National Agrarian University,Vyacheslav Shebanin.
On behalf of the research and teaching staff and students of the University the President of the University appealed to the deputy to consider the proposals on amendments and additions to the draft Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" (№ 1197-2), which was adopted as the basis by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on April 8, 2014.
Vyacheslav Shebanin made some constructive proposals as for the content of the Law, including addition to the paragraph 7 of the Article 72 "Financing of higher education institutions" and amendments to the Article 69, "The organizational forms of the scientific and technological basis and innovation" with the rationale explanation why those additions should be taken into consideration. Indeed, agricultural universities have their own specifics, due to the dependence of many scientific studies on the long process, based on the continued land usage.
Petr Poroshenko, in turn, had promised to support the sensible proposals.
During the meeting Petr Poroshenko determined the meaning of "new life" for him and what kind of country we are able to build together. He said that the new life means the safe, honest, free and comfortable way of living.
- To do this, we must unite, we need to be together! - said Petr Poroshenko .
University students had the opportunity to ask questions and get proper answers from the Deputy of Ukraine.
The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere.
